Prepare to have your heart stomped on and then put back together. Yours Sincerely, Rose shocked and surprised me until the very end and I absolutely loved it. I made the mistake of reading part of this book in a public setting (I was waiting for my daughter to get out of school) and had to force myself to stop reading because my eyes were getting watery. I am all for crying over books, as you know it occurs quite often, but I refuse to cry in public and risk having someone ask me what's wrong.
Jess Heileman packed so much emotion into this novella and did an excellent job of keeping us readers on the edge of our seats until the very end. I loved the emotional rollercoaster ride.
One character that completely surprised me was Mr. Reeves. At the beginning of the book I was unsure of him and after a certain incident in the garden I absolutely hated him. However, when his own heartache was revealed I started to like him. I love that he helped Rose cause a bit of mischief and always had her back. I also love that we get to see Mr. Reeves have a heart-to-heart with both Rose and Colin. By the end of the novel I found myself a fan of Mr. Reeves and was hoping for him to find his own happily ever after.

Colin had a serious illness (it is never said specifically what illness he had) which led to the paralysis of one of his legs. He suffers from severe and chronic pain as well as all of the hardships that accompany having a paralyized leg. This is mentioned quite frequently throughout the story.
